Behind the scenes2 min read

Behind every door opening there is an overnight build, a spreadsheet that won't balance and a team that sorts it out. A look at the part nobody photographs.

What the stage doesn't show

The photo that goes around after an event shows light, people and brand. It doesn't show the truck that arrived two hours late, the cable that had to be replaced at three in the morning, the conversation with the city about when the street would close. And that is exactly the part that decides whether the photo will exist.

Production is risk design

Every project has a plan. Good ones have three. The main plan, the plan for when it rains and the plan for when the rain plan fails too. Producing well is not avoiding the unexpected, it is arriving at the unexpected already knowing what to do.

That starts early. On the site visit, in the flow drawing, in a schedule that uses each supplier's real timing, not the promised one.

Building the structure before opening

The team nobody sees

A large operation involves dozens of suppliers, hundreds of people and a chain of decisions that has to happen in minutes. What keeps it standing is people who know the craft and trust each other. Radio on the belt, spreadsheet in the pocket, eyes on everything.

The audience can't notice the production. When they do, something went wrong.

Detail is respect

The height of a counter, shade over a queue, water in the right place, a clean restroom at the end of the day. None of these show up in the promotional material, and all of them show up in the memory of whoever was there. Caring for detail is the most concrete way to respect the audience and the brand that invited them.

At the end of the teardown, when the place goes back to what it was, what remains is the feeling that drives all of this work: it existed for a few hours, and it worked.

Bring us the challenge

A tight deadline, multiple locations, an open scope and plenty of people to align? That is how most of our projects begin.
